Tan Shin Yih (0334900) Experiential Design & Personal Project 1 Week 1 For the first class of experiential design & personal project 1, Mr. Mike brief us about the module and told us that we will have a collaboration project with RMIT students. He also explains to us how the collaboration will be going on and what we need to do for it. For let us understand more to the project we need to do, Mr. Mike also asks us to visit the previous work of RMIT student ( http://rmitdmcc.com/2018/ ). Mr. Mike also sends a survey to us to know everyone specialization so it would be easier to split the group later. We also being told to work with the Australian students for 2 weeks, and we will need to come out of a prototype by this 2 weeks time. We need to work with the RMIT students by this 2 weeks time from 10 am to 6 pm at CODA if we don't have any classes to attend. Before class ended, Mr. Mike brief us for a one day trip with the Australian students by next week ...
Tan Shin Yih (0334900) Video Editing and Production
Week 1 ( 27 March 2018 )
On the first class of video editing, Mr. Martin introduced about what is Video Editing and Production. He explains the course module for us including the assignment, exercises, and project that we will be doing on this subject.
After that, Mr. Martin showed us some video production that done by our seniors. He also explains all the details of the video and tells us the comment about all the videos too. All of the video that he shows us was without dialog. He told us that the fun thing about the video is, sometimes we can using video, movement, expression, and music to show the audience what is our feeling and the messages that we wanted to show them.
And then, Mr. Martin give us some short clips and teach us how to merge all video clips into a complete video with using the software, Adobe Premiere Pro.
At the second week of our class, Mr. Martin teaches us about the types of shots.
Types of shots 1. Extreme Wide Shot (EWS) 2. Wide of Shots (WS) 3. Medium Wide Shot (MWS) 4. Medium Shot (MS) I 5. Medium Shot (MS) II 6. Medium Close Up (MCU) 7. Over the Shoulder Shot (O.S) 8. Close Up Shot (CU) 9. Extreme Close Up Shot (ECU)
and also 1. Screen direction - Dynamic screen direction 2. 180 Degree Rules
Then, Mr. Martin showed us some video that very interesting and funny. He also gives us few video clip to us and ask us to merge all the video clip into one short video same like last week. Mr. Martin also explains the shortcut key of the Premiere Pro to us and tell us what is the function of the tools at the timeline bar.
Then, Mr. Martin gives us photo shooting exercise. He gives us 8 different types of shot and angle, asked us to pair up and take the pictures.
Week 3 ( 10 April 2018 )
On the third week of class, Mr. Martin lectures us about 3- Act Structure. We know that to create a better storyline for a video, must have followed these 3- Act Structure as a basic.
3 – ACT Structure
1. Beginning: Setup / introduction of a story
2. Middle: Confrontation of a problem in the story
3. End: Resolution of problems
Below are the important things that we need to know:

Today we have a short tutorial class. Mr. Martin showed us how to add the credits scrolling up to the video. Then, we have one on one consult for the progression work.

Today, we have a discussion for the second practice of video shooting. We separate the whole video into a few scenes and discuss the place for shooting.
