Tan Shin Yih (0334900) Experiential Design  & Personal Project 1 Week 1 For the first class of experiential design & personal project 1, Mr. Mike brief us about the module and told us that we will have a collaboration project with RMIT students. He also explains to us how the collaboration will be going on and what we need to do for it. For let us understand more to the project we need to do, Mr. Mike also asks us to visit the previous work of RMIT student ( http://rmitdmcc.com/2018/ ). Mr. Mike also sends a survey to us to know everyone specialization so it would be easier to split the group later. We also being told to work with the Australian students for 2 weeks, and we will need to come out of a prototype by this 2 weeks time. We need to work with the RMIT students by this 2 weeks time from 10 am to 6 pm at CODA if we don't have any classes to attend. Before class ended, Mr. Mike brief us for a one day trip with the Australian students by next week ...

Objective

The objective is to produce a 15 second stop motion video, the main objective is to give anima to a non-living thing with art

Ideas

1. A book comes to life having the personality and characteristics depending on what kind of book it is.
2. With magic, a recyclable sculpture comes to life
3. The Soul Transfer // Boyfriend Trouble

The storyline for the soul transfer // boyfriend trouble


Our main protagonist a girl would be heading to a café to see her boyfriend. The moment she gets there, she’s greeted with a cute little packaged present by the boyfriend followed with “ do not open “ said the boyfriend, I’ll be back in a few minutes.

Of course, she did. Immediately her body laid unconscious on the table. And pops a dolls head out from the present. She’s in shock that she now lives inside a doll. She immediately looks to her left and sees her boyfriend from afar and starts to chase him down. Not realizing the dangers of the city streets when you’re a size of a water bottle and you’re only made of socks.

She jumps down the table onto the chair and then to the floor. The moment she got onto the concrete floor running, she was met with humans who have no concern with what’s on the floor, so getting kicked around wasn’t that hard. After that, she manages to catch up to the boy at a park but then caught up with an old lady throwing bread crumbs to feed the birds which got caught onto the socks, which led to the birds then attacking her.

She continues following the boy into an alley where she’s then met up with rats who tried to attack her but she managed to scare the rats off being torn a little bit more. Finally getting out of that alley, she sees her boyfriend take a left and is about to enter a cab. As she almost caught up, she is then treated to splash by the side of the road from some car, causing her sock-like body to be soaked up with water making her heavier, harder and slower to move. She does not make it and the boy enters the cab, a stranger walking by sees the torn up sock doll and decides to put it in the trash.

Then, Mr. Hafiz told us that our story is a bit too long and hard to cut it short. So, we decide to did a bit changes to our final story.

The storyline for the soul transfer // A Doll that comes alive


A girl comes back home after a long day. She places a needle inside her doll the moment she enters. The doll comes to life and starts looking around confused. He tries to escape and goes down the bookcase by throwing himself. He goes out the door and down the stairs to find the house cat sleeping.

The cat is awakened by the noise and chases after the doll. The doll tries to escape but gets stuck between the stair rail and the cat takes that chance to kill the doll. The doll ‘s string is getting out and is wrapped around the cat’s paw. The doll dies and the needle is taken out.
